What are HDPE spacers and when are they needed?
HDPE spacers are moulded high-density polyethylene devices that hold two or more conductors at a fixed separation on overhead lines — typically bundled ABC distribution runs and multi-conductor arrangements where conductors must not touch or abrade. HDPE is lightweight, does not corrode and is UV-stabilised for outdoor service. Silverstone Electric supplies HDPE spacers from Suzhou, China, sized to the conductor arrangement.

Frequently asked
Why HDPE instead of metal spacers?
On low-voltage bundled distribution the spacer insulates, sheds water, resists corrosion and is light enough to remain on the conductors for the line's life; metal spacers belong mainly to transmission bundle conductors.
How are they fixed?
The spacer clips onto the bundled conductors; spacing along the span follows the cable and span design.
What sizing data is needed?
Conductor arrangement (bundle type) and conductor diameter; the spacer model follows from those.
