Composite long-rod insulators pair a fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) core with hydrophobic silicone-rubber sheds — a fraction of the weight of porcelain strings, with superior pollution performance. Silverstone supplies AC and DC long-rod designs plus anti-pollution porcelain disc, glass pin, epoxy resin and HDPE insulators for lines and substations.
Typical configurations shown. Final ratings, dimensions and test reports are confirmed per project datasheet — include your specification with the inquiry. Download brochure (PDF) →
Common classes are 70kN, 100kN, 120kN and 160kN. Tell us your conductor, span and safety factor requirements and we will confirm the class and creepage distance.
Composite or porcelain for coastal pollution?
Composite insulators generally outperform in wet pollution due to hydrophobicity; anti-pollution porcelain discs remain an option where utilities standardize on porcelain. Both are in our range.
Do you supply insulators for electrified railway?
Yes — composite suspension and post insulators for electrified railway applications are part of the catalog.
